City Directories and History: Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church on Hord Road was organized in the 1880s. The present Gothic style building was constructed in 1921. A school was operated in this building during its early years prior to the community building a new school across the road. Shaped note singing was often heard in services.
The structure has a Gothic arch, front gable with extending side gable bays and a pyramidal square tower with shingled steeple. This framed church also displays stained glass windows.
