The historic panels on the corner of East White Street and Charlotte Avenue were built to provide a brief oversight of historical data on the city and region. Your tour begins here with site #1. This corner was on the Upper Lands Ford Road, an early transportation route, connecting Lands Ford on the Catawba River, in Chester County, with Ebenezerville (currently along Ebenezer Road), and the county seat of York – Yorkville. The current path of the old Lands Ford Road following much of what is today, East White Street and the angled onto Charlotte Avenue, once called Clay Street, and continued to Ebenezer Road.

Please enjoy this structure and all those listed in Roots and Recall. But remember each is private property. So view them from a distance or from a public area such as the sidewalk or public road.
Do you have information to share and preserve? Family, school, church, or other older photos and stories are welcome. Send them digitally through the “Share Your Story” link, so they too might be posted on Roots and Recall.
Thanks!
