The historic panels on the corner of East White Street and Charlotte Avenue were built to provide a brief oversight of historical data on the city and region. Your tour begins here with site #1. This corner was on the Upper Lands Ford Road, an early transportation route, connecting Lands Ford on the Catawba River, in Chester County, with Ebenezerville (currently along Ebenezer Road), and the county seat of York – Yorkville. The current path of the old Lands Ford Road following much of what is today, East White Street and the angled onto Charlotte Avenue, once called Clay Street, and continued to Ebenezer Road.
