On Jan. 30, 1889 the YV Enquirer reported – “Rev. F.C. Hickson of Yorkville has accepted the position of Principal of the HG High School.”
The Yorkville Enquirer reported on Feb. 18, 1891 – “The school at Hickory Grove is under the management of S.B. Lathan, Esquire.”
The YV Enquirer reported on Sept. 11, 1895 – “Ms. Fannie McArthur has accepted the position as teacher in the Hickory Grove High School. She has been a teacher for four years at the Gaffney Seminary.”
City Directories and History: The Yorkville Enquirer of May 12, 1914 reported that last week the Hickory Grove School ended its eight month term with programs. The school had an enrollment of about 133 this session. It is understood that the same faculty will be there next year, prof. R.H. Holliday, Ms. Lucile Robb, Ms. Margarite Reece, and Ms. Emily Wylie.
