City Directories and History: The Fewell family was heavily involved in the banking and mercantile business and history of early Rock Hill, S.C. Not only did they conduct business in Ebenezer but were early merchants to establish a branch business near the Rock Hill depot in the 1850’s. The Fewell family were heavily involved in every aspect of Rock Hill’s early history from: banking, sales, cotton buying, railroad, and brokerage accounts.
George P. White and Ann H. White regularly shopped at the Fewell’s Store in Ebenezer. At his death in 1849, their account, was spread over four pages of expenditures. Unfortunately, these documents were not scanned at high enough resolution to be used in a readable format.
