City Directories and History: In 1881 a committee of leading Presbyterians in the Town of Clover consisting of; Rev. J. Lowrie Wilson, Rev. Samuel L. Watson, Rev. T.R. English, A.P. Campell, and S. LeRoy Adams meet to begin working on a new church. This new church was to replace the old Center Presbyterian Church which was south of the town.
Mr. W.T. Beamguard constructed the first church on this site in 1881 and the Rev. H. J. Mills began preaching here. By 1908 (another source suggests the correct date of construction is 1923), the congregation wanted a new church and it was then that the current structure was erected at a sum of $45,000. This Neoclassical style of architecture is one of the few of its style in the region.
