The Yorkville Enquirer reported on March 16, 1871 – “The S.C. Leg., passed an act to recharter Moore’s Ferry under the name of Dinkin’s Ferry on the Catawba River.”
The Rock Hill Herald reported on Jan. 18, 1893 – “Col. Leroy Springs and his bride, came to Rock Hill from Fort Mill, where they were married a few days ago. They were one their way to Lancaster. They crossed the river on the flat at Dinkin’s Ferry, but it was necessary to cut a track through the ice for the boat.”
