City Directories and History: The original name of this road was Huey Road, a farm road leading from the area close to the S.C. DOT Dept. on the corner of Robertson Road and Ogden. The road led across the cotton field of several families and ended up on the Huey farm which was on Oak Park Road in the Bethesda area.
The two houses pictured here were tenant houses which remained in the heavily rural farming area until the late 20th century.
Please enjoy this structure and all those listed in Roots and Recall. But remember each is private property. So view them from a distance or from a public area such as the sidewalk or public road.
Do you have information to share and preserve? Family, school, church, or other older photos and stories are welcome. Send them digitally through the “Share Your Story” link, so they too might be posted on Roots and Recall.
Thanks!
