City Directories and History: On Jan. 8, 1902 the Herald reported that Mrs. L.A. Barron is teaching school at Adnah and will board with the family of Mr. John McIlwain.”
The Rock Hill Record reported on March 4, 1909 – “For sometime there has been a questions of building a new road to Yorkville from Rock Hill which would be three miles shorter than the old road that follows the railroad. Citizens in Ebenezer, Newport and Tirzah are opposed, as it would take business away from them.” (This became Hwy #5)
On Feb. 2, 1940 the Herald reported – “Adnah Church is currently being remodeled and two new Sunday School rooms will be added to the rear of the auditorium.”
