City Directories and History: 1917 – NA, 1936 – Mrs. Amie B. Sykes, Sykes (Furnished Rooms), 1946 – Mrs. Amie B. Sykes, 1963 – Walter D. Smith
The Herald on June 5, 1910 reported – “A contract has been let to J.J. Keller and Co., for construction of a nine room house for J.B. Sykes on Oakland Avenue.”
The Sykes family were involved in the Syleecau Manufacturing Company in downtown Rock Hill.
