City Directories and History: The Duncan home in western York County sites on their family farm in the Blairsville community. It was constructed by local carpenter-contractor Mr. Summerford, who built a number of barns and houses in the area with a no nonsense attitude. One day a man saw him driving in screws with a hammer and he asked Mr. Summerford what did he think the slot in the screw’s head was for. As always, he replied in his matter of fact way saying, “Well that is in case you want to take the damn thing out!” Summerford built 5892 Lockhart Road for Frank Duncan, Senior.
