City Directories and History: The long-term family home of the Sherer family, one of western York County’s large and widely respected families who have made this area their home for generations. This specific home was constructed in the 1920’s by W.T. Sherer, Jr. and is now owned by W.T. Sherer, III and family who have continuously resided here in the Blairsville area.
Mrs. Jean P. Sherer wrote a regular column for the Yorkville Enquirer telling of happenings in Western York County.
The postal map does not give a name to the dot just above the community of Blairsville but it is believed that this marks the spot where the Sherer home was located in 1910 as well as today.
