City Directories and History: The Eula Wilkerson Home on Hopewell Road was constructed when the Craftsman influence was sweeping the country during the 1920s. T.A. Wilkerson, a local merchant, built the house in 1 926 for his sister upon her marriage to Ernest William Howe, Eula taught school at the Wilkerson School for a number of years during the early 1910s.
