Hope, 1920 – Newton Snader and his wife Clara C., 1922-23 Mrs. Eliz. Sadler the widow of Mr. J.E. “Ed” Sadler, 1936 – Jasper F. Elliott, 1946 – Lottie M. Elliott, 1963 – Vacant
The Rock Hill Herald reported on Oct. 9, 1884 – “Mr. Ed Sadler will leave Rock Hill and will open a store at McConnellsville.”
The Herald reported on May 20, 1896, “Where a week ago was a vacant lot, in Oakland, is now the frame of the handsome residence being erected by Mrs. Kate Fewell.” (The 1908 RH City Directory lists Kate Fewell as the widow of John W. Fewell and living at this address.)
The Herald reported on Jan. 15, 1902 – “That Dr. T.A. Crawford had rented the room recently occupied by Mr. Edward Sadler (Ed Sadler), as a restaurant. It is now being repaired. Dr. Crawford will have his office here and repair it in good style.”
The Yorkville Enquirer reported on Jan. 23, 1912 that Rock Hill is to have a cigar factory. Mr. Newton Snader from Rochester New York has decided to move to Rock Hill. The business will be located in the Fewell Building on West White Street. Mr. Snader is the father of Mrs. J. Barron Steele of Rock Hill, S.C. (The 1920-21 RH City Directory states the Cigar Factory was headquartered at 100.5 East Main Street. He and his wife, Clara C. were living at this address.)
