CITY DIRECTORIES AND HISTORY: Little is known about this old house but it appears to have been constructed before 1890 and demolished in the 1970’s. Mr. James I. Robinson, Jr., was born in this home in 1935 after the Moore family members no longer called it home.
“I have spent very little time researching my father’s mother’s side of the family [Crawford Family]. However, I understand that my father’s mother’s grandfather, James Crawford, was born in Belfast, Ireland, during 1784; died 06 Mar 1867; and is buried in Bethesda Cemetery. I am not positive of the accuracy, but I recall my father telling me that his grandmother, Julia Isadora Davis (Born: 8 Jun 1849; Died: 31 March 1912) married James Crawford’s son – James Highland Crawford. After James Highland Crawford’s death (25 Feb 1899) and burial in Bethesda Cemetery, Julia Isadora married J. Frank Moore and lived near the Petty house . My father referred to the property where they lived as the old Moore place. My father’s grandmother is also buried in Bethesda Cemetery, under the name of Julia Isadora Moore. Her second husband, J.F. Moore, is also buried there. ” [Information contributed by J.D. Bookout – 2013]
