City Directories and History: 1908 – E.E. Poag (#335), 917 – E.E. Poag (Annie P.) Postmaster, 1922 – E.E. Poag, 1946 – W. LaVern Oates, 1963 – Mayme P. Oates, 1975 – Ernest L. Mumford, Catawba Products
The E.E. Poag house appears to have been moved from the corner lot on East Main and Reid Street to the rear of the property and
made into a new home facing Reid Street. The home was originally constructed in the late 19th century and has recently (2012) been restored by the current owners at #110 Reid Street. Two additional homes were constructed on this lot after the Poag house was moved to the new location.
The McElwee Store ledger of 1915 states that the Poag family holds an account at this address.
