In 1938 local architect, Mr. A.D. Gilchrist was hired to draw plans for this home by Dr. Quantz. WU Pettus Archives – 2024
Dr. Quantz had grown up across the street at #325 College Ave., a home his family had built in the early 20th century. He was named for his mother’s Gaston family heritage. Like many of his Gaston, Strait, Wylie and Fairey family relatives, he too served the community as a physician.
