Robert Thomas M. Hall
Robert Thomas M. Hall was born near Ebenezer, York County, S. C., May 8, 1847, the son of Amzi Newton and Katherine Gillespie Hall. He attended old Ebenezer Preparatory School. He entered Davidson College but left before graduation to join the Confederate Army. He remained in the service until the close of the war, serving with fidelity and distinction. He was a member of Company C, 3rd Battalion, State troops commanded by Colonel Gill. At the close of the war he began the study of medicine. He attended the S. C. He was married November 20, 1872, to Mary Letherd Hicklin of York County and located near Rock Hill, SC for the practice of his profession. He soon built up a large practice, being recognized as one of the most eminent and successful physicians in that section of the country. survive: M. James Hall. Charleston, SC; Elizabeth Hall Gillespie, Atlanta GA; Annie Hall Sims, Rock Hill SC; Roberta Hall McCutcheon and Rebecca Douglas Hall Green, of Sumter, S.C.
