The Herald reported on Feb. 6, 1915 -“Sidney Adams has awarded a contractor for a new home to C.A. Dobbins. It will be a modern residence with nine rooms and will cost about $4,000. J.S. Starr is the architect in charge.”
The Herald reported on May 25, 1925 -“That Professor, A.L. Terrell has purchased the Frissell home on College Avenue which Earl Barron purchased earlier this month.”
This is one of many historic homes on Oakland Avenue attributable to Rock Hill contractor and architect, Mr. Julian S. Starr. He constructed this fine home in 1915 for the Adams family at a cost of $4,000. [The SC Architects: 1885-1935 Wells & Dalton, 1992 attributed this building to Julian S. Starr]
