The Yorkville Enquirer of July 26, 1895 reported – “Mr. W.S. Creighton, Manager of the Rock Hill Machine Works, has contracted with Spartan Mills of Spartanburg to furnish them with a water supply.”
The Rock Hill Herald reported on March 31, 1900 – “Mr. W.S. Creighton and Mr. W.J. Caveny have bought the Ratterree property on Chatham Ave., and will each erect a residence there. Mr. Creighton will build a house of about ten rooms.”
The Herald on May 15, 1901 – The Messrs. Creighton have contracted for the erection of a cottage on the lot on Chatham Ave., adjacent the premises of Dr. J.E. Massey.
The McElwee Store ledger states in 1915 that John H. McManus and wife Nannie (Machine Manufacturing), have an account at the store.
The Rock Hill Record of March 25, 1909 reported, “J. Edgar Poag, realtor, has sold to Mrs. A. J. Ballard the J.B. Creighton residence at the corner of Ebenezer and Chatham avenues.”
