This is one of the few building on North Congress with a stone facing which is shown in blue on the 1910 Sanborn Map, shown as #143 North Congress.
The Yorkville Enquirer reported on Aug. 26, 1891 – “The new firm of Ferguson Brothers will sell groceries at the corner of Main and Jefferson Streets. The firm consists of Mr. W.E. Ferguson of Atlanta and Mr. J.M. Ferguson of Yorkville. Mason has for the last few years worked for Mr. R.B. Lowry, one of the best grocers in the county.”
The Yorkville Enquirer of Feb. 20, 1917 contained an ad for McConnells – Ferguson & Youngblood.
