Peter Ihrie enjoyed a stay at Wrightsville Beach, as did Fletcher Ruff. Miss Carrie Friedheim enjoyed a stay at Atlantic City, N. J. where she was chaperoned by her aunt, Mrs. Samuel Friedheim. The Herald reported on Sept. 2, 1896 – “That Peter Ihrie is going to Pittsboro, NC to accept a position in the store of his grandfather, O.S. Poe, Sr.”
The Herald reported on Sept. 7, 1925 – “Dr. and Mrs. Roberts and family, the new director of music for Winthrop College, have rented the Peter Ihrie home on the corner of Hampton and Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Ihrie and son, have taken an apartment in the residence of her mother, Mrs. T.A. Crawford on Hampton Street.”
