City Directories and History: The Yorkville Enquirer reported on Aug. 10, 1876 – “Capt. L.M. Davis has finished a lovely Gothic roof cottage.” (This address is where he had his business but not in the home that is currently located at this address.)
The Record reported on July 18, 1907 – “Capt. L.M. Davis has opened a commission house at 232 West Black Street and is prepared to serve the trade with provisions and produce.”
