CITY DIRECTORIES AND HISTORY: James B. McGill built this stone-veneered Bungalow style home, framed structure northwest of Sharon on McGill Road about 1915. The house is a side gable, front gable structure with a shed porch and includes decorative elements featuring tripartite windows on the front, double windows down the side, a front porch rail of solid stone, and knee braces under the eaves. This distinguished home was that of Mr. Blake McGill for many years who raised registered Brahman cattle on his farm. His home is a classic Bungalow style made of local materials giving it a wonderful architectural bent. The Walker Map of 1910 does not show the McGill house but it does show the J.A. McGill house which was very close to the house in question.
