City Directories and History: Dr. C.A. Mobley, 1933 – Robert H. Mobley, 1946 – Robert H. Mobley, 1963 – Paul D. Compton
The Herald reported on March 18, 1914 – “Contractor C.A. Dobbins is building a handsome residence for Dr. C.A. Mobley on Johnston Street.”
Historically this was the home of Fred Mobley but in the 1970’s his home was demolished to make room for the construction of the new Coleman Poag Real Estate office at this location.

Coleman Poag, Jr says
My father operated his Real Estate business in the Mobley home for many years. The widening of Johnston Street forced him to relocate the front steps to the side of the porch near the driveway and the access to his office became difficult. He built the new building at the back of the property, keeping the business open in the house until construction was completed. I was, probably 10-12 years old at the time. My father lived at 249 Johnston Street as a baby, until his father built the house at 214 College Ave.

Your input is always welcomed! I have been trying to find out more also about the Poag farm in the Oakdale Section of York County. Do you know if it was sold to the Hutchison family, who in their journals speak widely of farming the Poag farm? Any thoughts would be wonderful. Your Parker family on Johnston Street is also of considerable interest!
