The Herald reported on May 29, 1899 – “Policeman A.L. Wallace is erecting a six room cottage on the old J.C. Sharpe lot on Main Street. Mr. A.D. Holler has the contract.” (It is unclear if this is the same location.)
The Herald reported on Dec. 8, 1918 – “Storage space for cotton is scarce. The People’s Trust Co., will enlarge the warehouse on the railroad between Trade Street and Oakland Ave., the contract is let E.S. Wallace. The addition will provide storage space for between 1,000 and 1,200 bales of cotton.”
Mr. E.S. Wallace was constructing the White Estate Building on East Main Street in 1927.
