The Herald on Dec. 10, 1904 reported, Mr. F.H. Barber has sold a lot on Main Street adjoining the Rock Hill Supply Co., to Mr. J.S. White. Mr. White will erect a brick building which will be occupied by Cunningham and Kuykendall.”
The Herald reported on Aug., 3, 1914 – “that the mercantile store of W.H. Hope was broken into and quite a bit of merchandise was stolen.”
The Herald reported on Aug. 13, 1925 – “That Hope Mercantile is improving the interior of the store. They will add a mezzanine floor at the rear for a new line of goods.”
The Herald reported on April 15, 1931 – “That the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company of Texas will open a plant in Rock Hill in a warehouse owned by J.S. White, located behind the Hope Mercantile Company.”
