The Rock Hill Record of Dec. 21, 1908 reported, “Mr. J. Thorn Neely, who has for the past three years has been assistant cashier at the Bank of Rock Hill, until its sale to the National Union Bank, has formed a partnership with Mr. W.W. Gill, one of the best known grocers of this city. As of Jan. 1st, the business will be Gill and Neely.”
The Herald reported on Aug. 8, 1940 – “The Gables Ready to Wear will open their new store at #125 East Main Street tomorrow. The store has been moved across Main Street to the building once occupied by the A&P Store. G.P. Sexton will continue as manager.”
