The well-known Williams Gulf Station was opened in the post WWII boom of downtown Rock Hill and continued operations until the mid-1980s. It was a great place to service your car, get fuel at 28 cents a gallon or just stop in for a drink and discuss local politics. After the closing of the service station, the building fell into disrepair until the preservation organization, Historic Rock Hill organized the restoration of the building and it was restored for use as the Station Restaurant. This preservation effort was made possible through the ample leadership of the Rock Hill Economic Development Corporation.
In 2015 the historic building was updated and repaired but sadly, it also was the year in which Wade Williams death was extensively reported on in the Herald Newspaper.
This building is now home to the Roasting Company restaurant.
