City Directories and History: 1908 – Dr. Thomas C. Lucas, Leila, also Ms. Bessie Powell (Music Teacher)
The Rock Hill Record reported on June 27, 1907 – “Dr. T.C. Lucas and family will move into the Steele Cottage on Academy St., next week, Mayor Roddey and family having vacated the same. The Roddey’s will be away for he summer and hope to occupy their new home on Oakland Ave., upon their return.”
The RH Record reported on March 23, 1908 – “Rev. and Mrs. J.K. Coit will occupy he Albertson Home, on Academy Street, soon to be vacated by Dr. and Mrs. Lucas.”
The RH Record of May 10, 1909 reported – “Dr. and Mrs. W.R. Sims are now occupying the Steele cottage on Academy formerly occupied by the Rev. J.K. Coit and family.”
