City Directories and History: 1908 – John Thomas (African American)
The 1915 store ledger of the McElwee Co., states that William Mark Mauldin and his wife Mayme lived here at the time of the ledger journal. The City Directory states he is the Pres. of S.M. Sowell Co., and The RH Bottling Company. They lived here prior to moving to their next home on Oakland Avenue and later to Aiken Avenue.
The RH Record reported March 1, 1909 – “The Rev. and Mrs. R.T. Marsh have bought the J. Wilson Moore house in Woodland Park and it had rented to Mr. Mauldin, proprietor of the RH Coca Cola plant. Mr. Mauldin is now occupying a house on East Moore Street.”
