Roots and Recall preserves the knowledge of who designed and built them – can’t you help? Who were the contractors, carpenters, masons, stone cutters, etc., who physically built the old houses in your town?
Roots and Recall’s founders have collected and researched these names and connective links for nearly forty years. R&R is anxious to continue building the collection and linking artisans to specific houses and sites. Feel free to contact R&R for additional information on artisans as well as sharing data you may also wish to preserve.
R&R Note: In 2017, there are over 15,000 names recorded on the SC Artisans – Occupations database in S.C. These artisans are primarily those having worked in the state prior to 1880. The database is too large to provide readers anything more than an abbreviated list but you are welcome to make enquirers to which R&R will respond in a timely manner. Your help in providing as many details about the individual you are searching will be beneficial: firstname.lastname@example.org
Explore history, houses, and stories across S.C. Your membership provides you with updates on regional topics, information on historic research, preservation, and monthly feature articles. But remember R&R wants to hear from you and assist in preserving your own family genealogy and memorabilia.
Visit the Southern Queries – Forum to receive assistance in answering questions, discuss genealogy, and enjoy exploring preservation topics with other members. Also listed are several history and genealogical researchers for hire.
