City Directories and History: This document lists numbers of grist mills throughout Pickens County. It was part of a larger study of grist mills in Upcountry, S.C. – 2005.
The Yorkville Enquirer reported on May 8, 1884 – “A man named Broughton, who was employed at Kelly’s Saw Mill on Six Mill creek in Pickens County, died on April 22. He was carrying lumber for the saw and fell across the saw.”
