City Directories and History: Established in 1855 and constructed in the church building boom of the 1910’s. The sanctuary was designed by C.E. McMillan and contracted by George A. Brown.
The Rock Hill Record of Aug 26, 1907 reported, “The new Pres. Church at Bennettsville was completely destroyed by fire early Saturday morning, “Aug 26″. The fire was caused by faulty wiring. The loss was $20,000., with insurance covering only $8,000. The building had been turned over by the contractor the day before.”
