The Rock Hill Herald reported on Dec. 6, 1888 – “In Fort Mill, the firm of Spring, Heath, and Belk have sold their entire line of stock of drygoods and notions to Heath, Springs and Company of Lancaster. The new firm will have the largest stock of shoes, hardware, and farm supplies ever offered in Fort Mill. Heath, Spring and Company will open as branch store at Kershaw, a station on the 3C’s Railroad.”
The Yorkville Enquirer reported on Feb. 20, 1889 – “Mr. O. P. Heath of the firm of Heath – Springs and Co., has withdrawn from the firm. Mr. Leroy Springs has taken over as manager. It is said that this firm sells more merchandise and supplies that any firm in the state outside of Charleston.”

The RH Record reported on Aug. 9, 1909 – “The secretary of state has issued a commission for the establishment for the Bank of Heath Springs, with a capital stock of $10,000. Petitioners are Leroy Spring, R.B. Mackey, and J.T. Stevens.”
