City Directories and History: One story brick rectangular church built circa 1912. The church was founded in 1884. This building was credited to Julian S. Starr, Rock Hill contractor / architect by family members in c. 2010.
See link this page to the original name of the church: Beulah Presbyterian
The Rock Hill Herald reported on Feb. 16, 1888 in an article taken from the Lancaster Ledger stating – “Last Thursday a new town was laid off on the GG&N railroad about 12 miles from Lancaster. The site is one the River Road where it crosses the new railroad on lands of A.W. Heath, E.W. Nisbet, and the Campbell estate. It is near the new granite quarry. Two lots have been sold and two stores are under contract. No name has been selected yet for the town, but since it is in a few hundred yards of the reputed birthplace of Andrew Jackson, we suggest “Jackson or Old Hickory.”
