City Directories and History: “The, Causey Homeplace, a one-and-a-half-story Symmetrical Victorian cottage is on a raised foundation of brick piers. The floor plan is typical of the Greek Revival style with a central hall and two rooms on either side. The Victorian details include a porch on three sides with turned posts, brackets and a gazebo on one end. The steeply pitched roof has elaborate barge boards in the gables. Windows are two over two (2/2) lights. The ca. 1875 residence has gabled dormer windows. Two interior chimneys with corbel caps are other characteristics of this basically unaltered frame house.”
