Born June 20, 1810 (N.C.) ; married Oct. 26, 1838, Emily Tuttle (Jan. 23, 1823-May 26, 1901); died Jan. 23, 1883. Church: Episcopalian (?). Public Service: State Representative; Commissioner of Free Schools; Colonel. Slaves: 250 (Lower All Saints’ Parish, Georgetown District).”
