City Directories and History: Here’s photo’s of another log cabin that I discovered two years ago. It is located just a stone’s throw from the steep bank of Chicken Creek, a branch of Beaver Creek in Feasterville. It is about one mile south of Liberty Universalist Church down Storm Branch/Creek Rd. (dirt) & off the beaten path by a couple thousand feet. My grandfather, John Knox Ragsdale, would give one of his dairy laborer’s the occasional ride to this cabin back in the 1940’s & 50’s. I am told that laborer’s name was Plummer Young. I believe it is Plummer’s offspring that now live right there in a small house, on 215, beside Liberty Universalist Church. I did recently meet a man there named Doby Young. The location of this property at #94 Storm Creek Road is approximate.
Please enjoy this structure and all those listed in Roots and Recall. But remember each is private property. So view them from a distance or from a public area such as the sidewalk or public road.
Do you have information to share and preserve? Family, school, church, or other older photos and stories are welcome. Send them digitally through the “Share Your Story” link, so they too might be posted on Roots and Recall.
