City Directories and History: This building was moved from 250 Walnut Street in the 1930’s to make way for the 1936-38 new construction of Mount Zion High School. It was built as the teacherage or residence of school officials and continued after it was moved as home of a couple of school officials. Lovely late Victorian architecture (1880’s) with later East-lake ornamentals. The property currently belongs to the City of Winnsboro and is in need of restoration. The fine details of this wonderful home offer a superb opportunity to help preserve local heritage.
