City Directories and History: Built around 1910. Bought in the 1930’s by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Roof, Sr. In the 1960’s their son T. W. Roof Jr. and his family moved there. Sold in the early 2000’s to Ian Stratton who made his home there for the next ten years. Sold to Oliver Johnson in 2010, who remains the current owner in 2013.
Historically, the home was also owned by Margaret T. Alling. Contributor, John Withers wrote in Nov. 2013, “the home we knew as the Ruff home was once a home of Mrs. Alling. Then Mrs. Alling would have been the aunt of both my Grandmother and Great Aunt who were in resident at the Neil Home.”

Please enjoy this structure and all those listed in Roots and Recall. But remember each is private property. So view them from a distance or from a public area such as the sidewalk or public road.
Do you have information to share and preserve? Family, school, church, or other older photos and stories are welcome. Send them digitally through the “Share Your Story” link, so they too might be posted on Roots and Recall.
Thanks!
