City Directory and History: Constructed prior to 1896, by Thomas Woodward. It was in 1896, that the son of Confederate Major T.W. Brice, acquired the home. It has been in the Brice family for three generations.
Besides extensively farming the family also owned and operated the handsome Brice Store in Woodward, S.C. until 1984 when Carolyn and James Brice stopped operating the store. The original Brice home was constructed in circa 1908 by a Mr. Kell who upon completion of the Woodard-Brice home is reported to have later constructed the Angus Stewart home across the road from the Brice home-place.
