City Directories and History: This home was built in the early twentieth century by John Calvin Stewart. His family consisted of John C. Stewart, Jr, Angus Stewart, Emmaline Stewart Aull, and possibly other sisters. These Scots Irish family members are buried at Concord Church and also in Blackstock Baptist Church Cemetery a few miles away.
The Stewart home remains in the family in 2013, and has been reported to have been constructed by a Mr. Kell who built the house after completing the Woodward-Brice home across the street.
