City Directories and History: “The one-story frame house is in the Dog-trot style. The southern section of the house was built ca. 1885 with a simple doorway, six over six (6/6) light windows and shutters. The porch, which spans the facade, is sup-ported by plain square posts on the southern side. The northern side is more decorative, with turned posts on the porch, exterior blinds rather than shutters and sidelights around the doorway. This section, built ca. 1905, is separated from the southern section by a wide covered breezeway or dogtrot. Raised on brick pier foundations, the house has exterior end chimneys. An ell in the back of the house has a shake roof.
Mr. Ritter’s son still occupies the house.”
