The Yorkville Enquirer reported on Oct. 20, 1886 – “Mr. D.P. Crosby, who lives near the Chester – Fairfield line, lost his gin house, grist and saw mill, and six bales of cotton to a fire. Two men have been arrested for starting the fire and their names Ika Inoman and James Fair.”
