City Directories and History: This report was issued by Archibald Whyte on his return from the Fishing Creek Agricultural Society in Chester County, South Carolina
in 1859. It was likely his draft of a newspaper article to be submitted to the Rock Hill Chronicle. See written copy of article under More Information.
In short, the four page letter states the affair drew over 1,000 and was a great day of speeches by numerous individuals. Awards were also given out to farmers in the community.
