On July 3, 1889 the Yorkville Enquirer reported – “Mr. John C. McFadden has lately made substantial and attractive improvements to his dwelling.”
City Directories and History: The Henry – McFadden home was constructed in circa 1835 and originally stood at 127 West End Street.
Constructed for William Dixon Henry (d. 1856), it remained in the family until just before the Civil War. In 1882, Mr. John C. In the early 1850s, Mr. Henry was in partnership with Joseph Herndon who living along Saluda Street in Chester. Following the death of Mr. Henry, Joseph Herndon moved his home and business interests to Yorkville, S.C. Click on the Thread Link to see his York history and home….
