City Directories and History: One of Charleston’s most prominent and prolific makers of tombstones and decorative posts, was the Walker Firm of Charleston, S.C., consisting of W. L. and David A. Walker.
In the 1850s, the Dantzler family of Orangeburg paid the firm for a tombstone and other work for Frederick Dantzler. The firm also operated as the Walker – Evans marble yard at one point. See image this page!
