City Directories and History: CAROLINA SAVINGS BANK BUILDING
Constructed 1926-27; rehabilitated 1997
“This small building, exhibiting some characteristics of Beaux Arts classicism, was built at the same time as several other similarly styled banks throughout the city, in keeping with the financial boom of the 1920s. Retaining its terra cotta detailed facade boasting Neoclassical Revival pilasters and console bracketed door architrave, the building has been occupied until recently by a succession of banks and offices.”
