City Directories and History: This old log house was moved some fourteen miles to Camden for restoration by the E.H. Drakeford family whose ancestors had originally constructed the dwelling. Constructed in circa 1812 by Richard Drakeford, who was a Revolutionary Patriot. At his death in 1825, the and become a man of some means, and his house inventory was extensive listing significant pieces of fine furniture.
