This is one of many homes in the Catawba Valley area of S.C., featuring a Carolina Rain Porch. This description was first used by the principal of Architectural Forensics LLC in the 1980s, and endorsed by Henry Boykin, Camden’s prominent preservation architect. The style porch emanated in this region and spread to the Pee Dee regions of the Carolinas and moved west with settlers into most sections of the South.
